For motorcycle riders one single private motorcycle and its passengers is $15.00. Visitors who enter the park by foot, bicycle, or horse the fee is $10.00 per person. Activities and Amenities
As you pull into the park you’ll want to drive to the parking lot in the back. The Great Falls visitor center is on the right as you pull in and visible from the main road. The visitors center has useful information about the park and guides. As you leave the visitors center take Patowmack Canal Trail to the Great Falls Jetty Overlook, this will take you to overlook #1 to get a good view of the water falls and Olmsted Island. Down slightly further on the Patowmack Canal Tail is overlook #2 where you can see the falls from a different vantage point. The last stop is the High Water Monument. Here you can walk out to overlook #3 to get a good view of the water falls.
In addition to viewing the falls from several overlooks visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking, kayaking. The hiking trails are trails of varying difficulty, from easy to more challenging. The Patowmack Canal Trail is particularly popular. Walking the trail offers visitors a glimpse into early American history and engineering.
